Quozette Valera, PT, DPT
Dr. Q graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State University then went on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Chapman University. The beginning of her career was spent at a four-month orthopedic internship at a United States Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi; working with active duty military, and continuing to hone her manual therapy skills. Dr. Q spent three years in orthopedics treating an extensive range of patients including infants with torticollis, high school athletes, and worker’s compensation injuries prior to specializing in Pelvic Health exclusively.
Having worked with many patients throughout pregnancy and during postpartum recovery, she was inspired to pursue further training as a childbirth educator through the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA) and developed her own comprehensive childbirth class. Her calling to pelvic health and birthwork was inspired by her mom—a former midwife who served the communities of Cavite, Philippines. Because perinatal and pelvic health involves discussing the most intimate and important parts of daily life, which—for most people—is a difficult conversation to have, she is passionate about utilizing her clinical and interpersonal skills to spread awareness, provide quality of care, and advocate for those experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction.
Outside of the clinic, she enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, playing mahjong, listening to music, and long therapeutic walks around her local Homegoods.
